Crystal Palace and recently England winger Wilfried Zaha looks certain to make his move to the Premier League in the approaching January transfer window. Zaha is becoming renowned as one of the most prolific players seen outside the top flight, and has been linked with the Premier Leagues top clubs such as Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal.
However, being a boyhood Arsenal fan, Arsenal seems to be the most likely move for Zaha. With speculation that Theo Walcott’s long-term future is being left for his agent to decide, Zaha looks to fit the bill. With Arsene Wenger keen to bolster his attacking options in January, it’s thought that a £10 million bid should be enough to snatch the player from under the noses of other interested clubs.
With Arsenal already reaping the benefits of their home-grown recruitment policy, Zaha would fit the long-term English mould of the team with players such as; Jack Wilshere, Kieran Gibbs, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Carl Jenkinson and Theo Walcott. It is also known that Jack Wilshere is tipped to become the long-term captain of the club.
Zaha isn’t your typical English winger. He’s strong, direct and powerful which has seen many of his opponents left mesmerised the Championship.
Wenger was asked directly about his interest in Zaha on this morning and said, ‘We are looking at every player who could strengthen our squad – but he is not more on the list than anyone else.’
Zaha is undoubtedly a top prospect for the coming years.
